Güstrower high-accuracy fertiliser spreaders

RYETEC Industrial Equipment Ltd, of Malton, North Yorkshire, has been appointed UK importer for the Güstrower range of high-accuracy fertiliser spreaders.

The East German built machines offer accurate spreading widths of up to 40m thanks to a unique scraper chain that gives an even feed of material. Independent hydraulically driven spreading discs with constant speed drive help produce an accurate spread pattern.

The trailed spreaders have capacities from 5.0-12.5 cubic metres and are able to spread all kinds of fertilisers including poor quality blends and compounds, lime and organic matter, at application rates from 40-16,000kg/Ha.

An electronic system controls application rates and needs only minimal maintenance through a long working life time.

At the heart of the Güstrower system is the unique scraper chain material delivery system. Unlike a conventional belt, material cannot slip on the scrapers surface nor, due to its positive sprocket drive, can the chain slip like a rubber belt on it's drive pulley.
This leads to accuracy levels of +/- 1-2% after calibration; and not only that, but the chain can handle lumpy and poor quality material. The chain's action breaks up the material and ensures an even feed. For the really tough stuff, an optional powered crumbler roller can also be fitted.

With only four bearings for the entire chain, and the chain's ability to deal with foreign objects without damage, it offers a long and reliable service lifetime with minimal maintenance. The chain is driven via a heavy-duty reduction gearbox by the tractor's hydraulic system. The speed is monitored and controlled by an electronic control unit, and regulated according to a speed sensor on the spreader's wheel.

Also key to the Güstrower's high accuracy is the hydraulically driven constant-speed twin-disc spreading unit. Flow of material is guided onto the exact part of the discs required to ensure even and accurate application by stainless-steel adjustable guides. The settings are made from spreading tables provided for each type of material. Spread patterns are calibrated at an independent testing facility at Bygholm, Denmark.

Vital to the whole system is an exact disc speed. Conventional mechanical transmission systems vary with tractor engine revs and that can be a big problem when spreading with a heavy machine on hilly terrain. The Gustrower has an independent PTO-driven hydraulic system that automatically maintains an exact disc speed even if the input tractors PTO speed increases or decreases.
The high-power hydraulic motor dives the discs via a twin gearbox system that maintains disc timing even under heavy load
